Scott Stewart, Principal

An unyielding desire to innovate is what drives Scott Stewart. Since assuming leadership of ASK Research and Development in 1999, he has maintained a successful client base while growing the company’s reputation for providing highly responsive and versatile solutions in industrial design, engineering and prototyping services. He is not only the company’s leader, he is its lead innovator and is intimately involved with every client as he and the ASK team deliver expedited concept, product development, project management and consultative services.

While Scott collaborates with diverse markets to deliver products that serve the interests of the inventor as well as the demands of the market, he has a high level of proven expertise in the medical, energy and manufacturing markets. In addition to his role as Principal at ASK Research & Development, Inc., Scott also is the Principal Owner of Nexxspan Healthcare, LLC and serves as a Board Member and Treasurer at Energy Materials Corporation (EMC). Scott earned an MBA from Emory University and BS in Industrial Management from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Ray McElwaney, Machinist, Project Lead

Ray McElwaney is no stranger to working in high-pressure environments that demand precision. From custom firearms development and his work with steam conditioning valves for nuclear power plants to building custom engines for the Cadillac Lemans and Hypersport racing teams, Ray has four decades of experience in prototype design, fabrication and machining, Mastercam, welding, and more.

Ray joined ASK Research & Development in 2000 where he has been able to leverage his diverse experience to satisfy urgent product modifications as well as guide revolutionary products through the ASK invention incubator.

Doug Hall, Machinist, Project Lead

When Doug Hall joined the ASK team in 1997, he brought with him a dedication to accuracy from his years as a gunsmith and CNC programmer. His continued commitment to precision can be seen in his work across a diverse group of industries from medical device, satellite communications and moldmaking to custom fixtures, firearms, and car and motorcycle racing. Years of experience have given him command of our CAM program and abilities to strategize difficult machine set ups.

Rhonda Whittington, Office Manager

For Rhonda Whittington there’s nothing better than a satisfied customer. After 18 years managing offices for physicians and builders, and 12 years overseeing the most demanding audience—her two daughters—Rhonda joined the ASK team in 2005. Providing stellar service is something she thrives on and doing it for a company that prides itself in exceeding expectations makes it all the more satisfying.
